1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Macrotech Corporation ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Shift Builder workforce scheduling platform, including the web application, the Employee Portal, and the Shift Builder mobile apps for iOS and Android (together, the "Service").
Shift Builder is a business-to-business product: your employer or manager creates and administers your account as part of managing their workforce. You cannot sign yourself up as an individual member of the public — access is provisioned by the company ("Employer") that has a Shift Builder tenant account. If you have questions about your personal data, you may need to contact your Employer directly in addition to, or instead of, us — see Section 7.
2. Who operates Shift Builder
Shift Builder is operated by Macrotech Corporation, with a registered address at 2100 N State Hwy 360 #1002-1003, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. For most companies using Shift Builder, Macrotech Corporation acts as a data processor on behalf of the Employer (who is the data controller of employee data) — meaning we store and process the data according to the Employer's instructions and this policy, but the Employer decides what data is collected and how it's used within the app (e.g. which features are turned on, who has access).
3. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:

We do not collect payment/financial information (Shift Builder accounts are provisioned by your Employer, not purchased individually), and we do not use any advertising SDKs or sell data to third-party advertisers.
4. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate the core scheduling features: show you your shifts, let you clock in/out, and let you request/approve shift swaps, time off, and open-shift claims
- Let your managers/admins build schedules, review and approve requests, and see attendance/coverage for their team
- Send you notifications about things that need your attention (e.g. a swap request awaiting your decision, or your clock-in awaiting manager approval)
- Maintain an audit trail of scheduling actions for accountability within your Employer's account
- Secure your account (authentication, session management) and prevent misuse
- Provide customer support to your Employer's administrators when they contact us
- Comply with legal obligations where applicable
5. Location data
Shift Builder records your approximate geographic coordinates only at the exact moment you tap Clock In or Clock Out. We do not track your location continuously, in the background, or at any other time. On the mobile app, this uses your device's standard location permission prompt; you may decline it, and Clock In/Out will still complete successfully — the record will simply have no coordinates attached. Captured coordinates are visible to your Employer's admins/managers as part of the attendance record (e.g. to confirm a clock-in happened at a work site), consistent with the Employer's own workplace policies.
6. Push notifications
If you enable notifications (in the mobile app, or by clicking "Enable notifications" on the My Profile page in a web browser), we register a device/browser push token with our notification provider, Firebase Cloud Messaging (a Google service), so we can deliver alerts like "your shift swap was approved" or "a clock-in needs your approval" directly to your device. You can disable notifications at any time from the same screen, or from your device/browser's system settings, which stops further delivery and removes the stored token.
8. Data storage & security
Data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database, protected by row-level security policies that restrict each Employer's data to that Employer's own account and role-based permissions within it. Passwords are never stored in plain text. Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, so while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Data retention & deletion
We retain information for as long as your Employer's account remains active, or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If your Employer deactivates your employee record, your access is revoked; historical schedule/attendance records may be retained by the Employer for record-keeping (e.g. payroll, labor law compliance). To request deletion of your personal information, contact your Employer's administrator, or reach us directly using the contact details in Section 14 — we will coordinate with your Employer as needed since they control the underlying account.
10. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information (e.g. via the My Profile page, or by asking your admin/manager)
- Request deletion of your information, subject to your Employer's record-keeping obligations
- Withdraw consent for optional features like push notifications or location capture at any time
- Object to or restrict certain processing, where applicable law provides this right
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14. Because your Employer controls your underlying employment account, some requests may need to be routed through them.
11. Children's privacy
Shift Builder is a workplace tool intended for use by employees of a registered business account and is not directed to, or intended for use by, children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the applicable minimum working age in their jurisdiction.
12. International data transfers
Shift Builder is used by teams across multiple countries and time zones. Your information may be stored and processed in a country other than the one in which you live or work, including the location of our hosting providers' servers. Where required, we take steps to ensure such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or applicable law. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do, and, for material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify Employers (e.g. by email or an in-app notice). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
